Julius Bunek, DDS, MS

Dr. Bunek received his Bachelor of Science, Doctor of Dental Surgery, and Master’s degree in Periodontics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He is a full-time private practice periodontist at Michigan Implants and Periodontics in Ann Arbor, and a strong believer in the collaborative diagnosis and focuses on teamwork with his referring doctors to achieve the highest level of patient care.

Dr. Bunek is a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and certified in IV Sedation. He is a past President of the Bunting Periodontal Study Club (the largest and oldest Periodontal study club in the US), and an active member in many dental associations. In addition to his commitment to attending countless hours of continuing education courses, Dr. Bunek is also an educator, lecturing nationally to other clinicians on advancements in periodontics and dental implants.

He is an active reviewer for the Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry and sits on the Editorial Board for the Dental Advisor. Throughout his time at the University of Michigan, Dr. Bunek received numerous accolades recognizing his passion and commitment to patient care and excellence in periodontics/implantology including the Sigurd P. Ramfjord Award for Excellence, Kramer Scholar finalist, Billy A. Smith Patient Rapport Award, and the Russell W. Bunting Award.
