Dr. Rahbar is an associate professor at the University of Washington (UW) Department of Radiology. A board-certified radiologist, he works in the breast imaging section at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) and serves as the Breast Imaging Clinical Director and Fellowship Director.
Dr. Rahbar earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and his M.D. from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He completed his radiology residency training and breast imaging fellowship at the UW and stayed on as faculty upon graduation.
His clinical practice at the SCCA includes digital mammography, digital breast tomosynthesis (or “3D mammography”), breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and image-guided procedures of the breast.
Dr. Rahbar’s primary research interests include the identification of MRI features that can be used to improve management of ductal carcinoma in situ, the use of non-contrast MRI techniques to identify and characterize breast cancers, and the identification of MRI markers of risk of developing breast cancer.
